Darlands Conservation Trust is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation established by a group of local people who share a love for the Darlands nature reserve.

Our mission

Our mission is sensitively to revitalise, protect and enhance the mosaic of habitats within the Darlands nature reserve to increase biodiversity. Our vision is that Darlands will be a place where everyone can connect with nature and experience an abundance of wildlife.

Who We Are

Meet Our Trustees

At The Darlands Conservation Trust, our trustees come from a wide range of backgrounds but share a deep commitment to the nature reserve. Here’s a little about who we are:

Caroline Stock (Chair)

Local councillor for Totteridge ward and a passionate advocate for green spaces. Caroline is also involved in several local charities and brings strong community connections and leadership to the Trust.

Paul Flashman (Deputy Chair)

A local farmer and former police officer, Paul brings practical land management experience and a hands-on approach to site care and conservation.

Terry Banister

Retired marketing professional and current chairman of the Totteridge Manor Association. Terry brings a wealth of experience in pond and lake management and supports our efforts to improve water habitats.

Jeffrey Graham Duckett

A respected botanist and communicator, Jeff brings scientific insight to the reserve and has produced a series of informative and engaging videos about our work at Darlands https://www.youtube.com/@DarlandsTrust

 Val Duschinsky

Local councillor for Mill Hill with extensive experience working with Barnet Council. Val helps ensure the Trust’s work is aligned with local policy and community needs.

Eileen Eskenzi

Well known in the Totteridge community through her involvement in the Totteridge Residents Association, Eileen brings deep local knowledge and a longstanding passion for the reserve.

Debbie Hobson

A local businesswoman and a charity advocate, Debbie also runs a nearby livery yard. She brings practical business and management experience to the Trust.

Michael Worms

A zoologist with extensive knowledge of wildlife conservation. He helps guide environmental decision making locally, both for the Trust and the Mill Hill Preservation Society.
